Climbing Armentarola and Colfosco icefalls
When winter hardens the mountains, waterfalls turn into vertical frozen walls, raw, silent, powerful. From Camping Sass Dlacia, world-class ice climbs rise just steps away, offering a cold, clean line into true alpine adventure.
Frozen waterfalls, shaded gullies, and towering ice curtains create a playground for both beginners and seasoned climbers.
Whether you’re trying it once or chasing the next challenge, these walls let you feel the mountain’s power, stilled, sculpted, and ready to climb.
Learn right. Climb safe.

Here are some of the best locations for ice climbing in the surroundings of Camping Sass Dlacia.
The Armentarola Icefalls
Just a short walk from the campground, the Armentarola waterfalls freeze into striking blue walls ideal for climbing. Reach them on foot along the trail to Rifugio Scotoni, or arrive on skis by descending the Lagazuoi–Armentarola run. A direct, wild way to step into vertical winter terrain.
The Colfosco frozen walls
For taller, more dramatic ice, head to the frozen walls of Colfosco at the foot of the Sella massif. Formations rise on both sides of Val de Misdé and are easily reached by bus 473 or by car. From the Mesules Restaurant, a short walk leads to multiple routes shaped by deep winter cold and shade.
