South Tyrol counts seven natural parks and one national park

Each park has its own unique character: from the rugged beauty of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park to the serene landscapes of Puez-Odle, every corner tells a story of geological wonder and ecological richness.

The Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, in the heart of Val Badia, stretches as the largest of the neighboring parks, with its gateway just a short walk from Camping Sass Dlacia.

Here, nature reveals its most enchanting forms: high plateaus of gentle meadows tucked behind jagged Dolomite peaks, crystal-clear alpine lakes mirroring the sky, and a landscape sculpted over millennia into dramatic karst formations.

Every corner bursts with life, from rare plants to elusive wildlife, while the air carries the echoes of ancient Ladin legends, setting the stage for a world that feels timeless, magical, and utterly alive.

Fanes

The Puez-Geisler Nature Park unfolds like a living masterpiece on the opposite side of Val Badia, stretching from Alta Badia to Val Gardena, Lungiarü, and Villnöss. At its gateway stands our Alpine Inn Ütia de Börz , an ideal starting point for exploring this wild alpine world.

The scenery changes dramatically on the Puez plateau, where a stark, lunar-like landscape opens beneath the jagged peaks of Sassongher, the Odle / Geislerspitzen, Pizes da Cir, and Sas de Pütia. Alpine meadows burst into color in summer, while the Dolomites High Route No. 2 leads hikers through geology, biodiversity, and Ladin legends—an unforgettable meeting of nature and adventure.
